The Mill is just a stone’s throw away from the River Exe, enabling you to unwind and enjoy perfect peace whilst strolling through the meadows, enjoy the wide variety of nature and wildlife, and if you are lucky you will be able to see our resident Kingfishers!.

Relax in our large gardens and enjoy your tea or coffee on the terrace overlooking the Mill Leat whilst listening to the bird song.

The Mill has recently been tastefully converted and still maintains much of its olde worlde charm with beamed ceilings throughout. We offer delicious home cooked breakfasts, taken in our Conservatory Dining Room, at a time that suits you. Vegetarian and special diets are no problem. We also offer tasty and traditional evening meals, using local and home grown ingredients, finished off by home made desserts. Sandwiches, snacks or picnic lunches are easily arranged, just speak to us at breakfast time. Indeed, if you have friends or family living locally you are more than welcome to bring them to The Mill for evening meals.

Families are most welcome and children will enjoy swimming and paddling in the river and picnicking on the river banks. Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and our home is your home for the duration of your stay.

An ideal holiday spot for all country lovers, you can enjoy lovely riverside walks on our 120 acre farm.

Washfield is a country lovers paradise with an abundance of hedgerow flowers, local birdlife and a very wide variety of wildlife. The Mill Leat runs alongside the property and children will love to feed the ducks and look after the baby ducklings. Ideally situated for touring, just 5 minutes from the thriving market town of Tiverton, with the sandy beaches of the North and South Coast just 45 minutes drive away. The heatherclad moors of Exmoor and the rugged beauty of Dartmoor National Parks are within easy reach. Junction 27 of the M5 motorway is just 15 minutes away with the adjoining British Rail Parkway. National Trust properties nearby include Knightshayes Court and Killerton, nearby are both Tiverton and Bickleigh Castles, both well worth a visit.

Numerous other amenities include the Grand Western Horse Drawn Canal Barge, Bickleigh Mill and Coldharbour Woollen Mill and Museum. We are open all year and offer special packages for Christmas and New Year.

ACCOMMODATION The Mills tasteful En Suite Accommodation has been converted to maintain as many of the original features as possible. Double, Twin, Single and Family Rooms are available, and all rooms have televison and tea / coffee making facilities.

FOOD Delicious home cooking and plenty of it. Vegetarian or special diets are welcome. Remember you are on holiday, so breakfast is served at a time suitable to you. If you require an Evening Meal this can easily be arranged, and you just need to let Liz know at breakfast time. Snacks and sandwiches are always available, or if you fancy a picnic then this can easily be prepared. Our aim is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, and our home is your home for the duration of your stay.
